چکیده

the inventory routing problem (irp) arises in the context of vendor-managed systems. this problem addresses jointly solving an inventory management problem and a vehicle routing problem. in this paper, we consider a multi-depot multi-vehicle inventory routing problem in which suppliers produce one type of product to be delivered to customers during a finite time horizon. we propose a two-phase hybrid heuristic method based on variable neighborhood search (vns) and the simulated annealing (sa) algorithm to solve the problem. in the first phase, the initial solution is generated, then the solution is improved iteratively in the second phase. the solutions are then compared with and without using the local search procedures. computational results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. the inventory routing problem (irp) arises in the context of vendor-managed systems. this problem addresses jointly solving an inventory management problem and a vehicle routing problem. in this paper, we consider a multi-depot multi-vehicle inventory routing problem in which suppliers produce one type of product to be delivered to customers during a finite time horizon.

A Two-Phase Hybrid Heuristic Method for a Multi-Depot Inventory-Routing Problem

In this study, a two phase hybrid heuristic approach was proposed to solve the multi-depot multi-vehicle inventory routing problem (MDMVIRP). Inventory routing problem (IRP) is one of the major issues in the supply chain networks that arise in the context of vendor managed systems (VMI) The MDMVIRP combines inventory management and routing decision. We are given on input a fleet of homogeneous ...

A Constructive Heuristic for a Multi-Product Inventory Routing Problem

Inventory management and transportation issues are very important problems in distribution companies. Simultaneous l optimization of these problems realizes significant savings for all partners of the supply chain. One of the problems that should be addressed in the scope of simultaneous sl optimization is the inventory routing problem (IRP). IRP deals with how to manage the supply goods from o...

A Hybrid Heuristic for an Inventory Routing Problem

We consider an inventory routing problem in discrete time where a supplier has to serve a set of customers over a time horizon. A capacity constraint for the inventory is given for each customer and the service cannot cause any stock-out situation. Two different replenishment policies are considered, the order-up-to level and the maximum level policies. A single vehicle with a given capacity is...

Solving a multi-depot location-routing problem with heterogeneous vehicles and fuzzy travel times by a meta-heuristic algorithm

A capacitated location-routing problem (CLRP) is one of the new areas of research in distribution management. It consists of two problems; locating of facilities and routing of the vehicle with a specific capacity. The purpose of the CLRP is to open a set of stores, allocate customers to established deposits, and then design vehicle tours in order to minimize the total cost. In this paper, a ne...

The fuzzy multi-depot vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery: Formulation and a heuristic algorithm

In this paper, the fuzzy multi-depot vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery (FMDVRP-SPD) is investigated. The FMDVRP-SPD is the problem of allocating customers to several depots, so that the optimal set of routes is determined simultaneously to serve the pickup and the delivery demands of each customer within scattered depots. In the problem, both pickup and delivery dema...
